My Favorite to Date

I’ve been a customer of Richard’s for more years than I can remember and have most of his effects including the early ones. This one is simply my favorite effect of his to date.

I have seen or own a number of block penetrations and the method used in Doesn’t Matter is far superior to all others in my opinion. Richard has created a mechanical marvel in his implementation of this time tested effect. The trigger is automated, with no funny business or moves to make it occur. He has really rethought the engineering behind this. As in all of Richards effects the form and finish are beautiful and real attention getters.

This one gets the highest of recommendations from me.

The Perfect Force Deck

This is basically a Monte Cristo deck, sometimes called The Perfect Force Deck. You can ribbon spread it to appear perfectly normal, yet produce the force card from anywhere in the deck.

After Neil Lester died (Cards by Martin), I searched long and hard to find anther source for these decks, Then along came Mastermind – selling at a great price, and with Bicycle backs to boot. If you ever want to perform a quick, easy, clean ACAAN routine, you can’t beat these decks. Mastermind is available with either of two different force cards – and if you like the routine, you’ll want to own both.

Winston Freer Tile Puzzle

Andy is correct, this is an amazing piece of magic. From the ground up this prop is first class. The tiles are stunning and the wood frame is very nice as well. Andy has described the effect so I will not. Just rest assured that when you perform it people will be amazed.

John Rogers is also a great guy and was very helpful with my purchase. I wanted the extra case he used to sell and he gave me all the info I needed.

This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time.

Worth the Entertainment Alone

Tom Mullica is one of the greats, no doubt. Most of the material here is usable and well thought out. But you really should buy it just to watch this comedy genius in action. Tom is one of the funniest people alive today. His routines are almost overshadowed by his comedic tone and facial expressions. He performs the famous cigarette and napkin feast that will leave you in stitches. My wife loves watching the performances on this tape. Also check out the Tom Foolery DVD. Great stuff from a classic performer.

Doesn’t Matter

This Visible Block Penetration is another great effect from Gerlitz. Although I have always liked this effect, I thought that other versions had cumbersome handlings (especially the block substitute part). This Gerlitz item has significant improvements to make an easy and more deceptive performance. I also like the idea of having a 5-side shell. The apparatus is beautifully decorated with clear & thorough instructions. Being away from the apparatus when the block penetration is done really makes this look very magical. This is the way a magic effect should look. In summary, I think it may be the best item that Gerlitz has built so far. Looking forward to future Gerlitz releases!!

A LOST GEM

I have scored this trick 5 stars for the simple reason that it’s my trick. Yes, my name is Donal Bergin (not Donald as Supreme Magic advertised it !) and I invented and sold ‘words of Wisdom’ to Supreme Magic in Devon England 22 years ago. I was the tender age of 17 at the time.

I am now retired from professional magic but would be so delighted to know if anyone out there used or is using ‘Words of Wisdom’ in there act.II am living in Dublin Ireland and would love to here from anyone who owns my trick Thank you : [email protected]

The ULTIMATE Block Penetration

This new Gerlitz release has excelled my expectations and squelched some reservations I may have had when I first saw it on Richard’s site. There was no question that the Oriental appearance to the apparatus looked admirable and now that I have it, it is truly beautiful to behold…a real attention getter just seeing it on any surface in the home. Richard does have an eye to design that is quite appealing in his previous releases and Doesn’t Matter is no exception. This world first, self operating block penetration does live up the title.

The workmanship is impeccable and the ALL MECHANICAL method ingenious with close attention to every possible detail (for those fans of fancy gadgets, you will love seeing this in operation over and over). The setup is very easy…worked perfectly smooth the first time I quickly set it up and it is incredibly silent in operation. Now the only reservation I did have was concerning the workability of the black art screen. The illusion does indeed work, even during indoor daylight and up to a few feet from the apparatus. If it fooled my wife, even after I told her the method, it will be a real fooler.

Again, Richard has brought out another winner to his fine line of limited edition magic. The series number is down to only 25 and this is will sell fast. Now, to the next wonder from Richard…

Classic Simplicity

Haenchen designed this Cut & Restored Hank Box back in the late ’30’s. He took the Hathaway version and basically turned it ‘upside-down’, removing the top and back and adding a front door. A great departure from the dark black interior of the original.

Vida Haenchen hand cut the stencils and Fred hand mixed the bronze metal and base to create the paint for the silk-screen process.

The method used is original with Haenchen and is a very clever and deceptive way of performing this effect. Between Haenchen and the Viking versions, approx. 200 were made.
