Five Stars for Ingenuity!

Steve Dusheck might not be the best craftsman in the world, but his ideas are second to none. This is an old item that I managed to track down again and I love it. It is not made as well as I would like from a Collector’s point of view, but it is a very clever idea and works perfectly.

The effect allows you to tell which number they select on the die without any funny peaking or moves. Instant reset too. Very clean.

I’d love to see this made in Walnut or something similar – I wonder if my good friends over at the Trickery are listening?

The Perfect Rattle Box!

What a wonder this little rattle box is – and I do mean little, it is a fraction of the size of regular rattle boxes. Craig Brooks has a real winner on his hands with this amazing little device. I have sold all my other rattle boxes and now only use this one. Unfortunately, this means I could not put a picture of a more traditional rattle box as a side by side comparison – but there is a huge difference in both height and length.

It looks beautiful and works perfectly too. This level of detail and very fine craftsmanship is something you rarely see these days, particularly for such an inexpensive item. The small size makes it all the more convincing as it is much closer in size to the coin you are vanishing. The new style rattle mechanism, which takes a little while to get used to, is unique to Craig’s box too and you soon realize what you’ve been missing all these years!

All in all, a very perfect addition to my collection – I can’t wait to see the next magical item that Craig produces!

Another Electronic Marvel from LabcoMagic

By now it is obvious who is making the best electronic magic today: Soren Harbo and his team at LabcoMagic. This final piece for my collection is the epitome of why their magic is so great – no sign anywhere of electronics and beautiful old world craftsmanship combined together to create an amazing piece of mental magic.

100% reliability is necessary for any sort of electronic effect – you just can’t have it work 90% of the time. This is where LabcoMagic really make their mark. The box arrives in the mail and once you have figured out how to turn it on – which is always a challenge since they do such a great job of hiding everything – it just works from then on.

I’m not sure which is my favorite item of theirs but they are all special in their own way and I am very proud to have them sitting nicely in my Collection.

This is what Joe Porper was born to build!

Joe Porper is well known in the world of Pool Cues for his amazing cues and cases, and he seems to be bringing that knowledge and expertise to these beautiful folding wands.

They are perfect and beautiful and unique. Some of Joe’s magic line is over priced, but these wands are not one of them. They are certainly worth the money and something you will treasure for the rest of your life.

What an Amazing, Mystifying, Beauty!

We all know the Magic Wagon produce some of the best quality magic available today. So when I received this I was not surprised to find some great looking boxes. But when I found out the secret a real sense of awe came over me. What a truly wonderful set of boxes this is.

They are made to last a lifetime, the gimmicked box is 100% undetectable and I spent ten minutes trying to figure it out before I broke down and read the instructions. In essence you show both boxes and have a spectator place an object or message in the smaller box. This is then locked and closed by the spectator (the magician’s back is turned) – there is absolutely no way in to the box without the key. The magician then places the locked box into the bigger box right in front of the spectators to ensure that nothing can be seen and it is handed back to the spectator.

Yet every time you can divulge what is in the box. Nothing is added or taken away, no electronics, instant reset, and minutely examinable.

This is a beauty!
