Wow What an Entertaining and Colorful Beauty this is!

So I’ve been watching Francois Danis grow for the last few years and it is very clear with this latest release how far he has come. This is a perfect collector’s piece of magic. Each part of the prop from the beautiful presentation box to each of the engaging pieces are intriguing and superbly crafted. In the past I would not have said that Francois was as good as Alan Warner – but I do believe this piece is worthy of comparison. Very intricate with everything finished flawlessly.

As with all of Francois’s items it comes with an interesting story to fit the props – I found the translation not quite as good as I would like, but it is workable for sure. The effects are not new and neither are the ideas but the way they have been incorporated into the props and story line is very fresh.

I would go as far as saying this is the best prop that Francois has made thus far and I look forward to his new items. One thing you can always rely on Francois is some new twist on an old idea, and in this the Treasurer is very consistent.

Highly Recommended for Collector’s everywhere!

The Inscrutable Francois Danis

He just gets better and better in my opinion. This Illusion offers mystery, whimsy and pure magic. Told in storybook fashion you tell the story of the Treasurer and a theft which leads to a grisly Act which in the end satisfies all the requirements for a magical ending. The workmanship rivals Warner and is a joy to behold. Again something you will perform when you remove it from the cabinet.

A Beauty

This may be Richard Gerlitz’s finest creation to date. La Glace Liquide is simply gorgeous in every respect…in aesthetics, in charm, in engineering, and in operation.

Of course, it’a also a devastating illusion: the silk seems to dematerialize into the solid mirror. No trace, no remnant, no clue…Pure magic!

I can’t imagine how many man-hours went into creating and building this mini-illusion. My hat goes off to Gerlitz on this one.

The Perfect Rattle Box!

What a wonder this little rattle box is – and I do mean little, it is a fraction of the size of regular rattle boxes. Craig Brooks has a real winner on his hands with this amazing little device. I have sold all my other rattle boxes and now only use this one. Unfortunately, this means I could not put a picture of a more traditional rattle box as a side by side comparison – but there is a huge difference in both height and length.

It looks beautiful and works perfectly too. This level of detail and very fine craftsmanship is something you rarely see these days, particularly for such an inexpensive item. The small size makes it all the more convincing as it is much closer in size to the coin you are vanishing. The new style rattle mechanism, which takes a little while to get used to, is unique to Craig’s box too and you soon realize what you’ve been missing all these years!

All in all, a very perfect addition to my collection – and this time I’ll keep it!

Highly Recommended!

A Must to have for the Mummy Fan !

If you are like me, you are certainly a "mummy" fan. I have several different mummy sets, and I can tell you, I love this one created by the German Master Craftsman Tony Lackner.

The first thing that really impressed me, when I opened the carrying case was the size and the weight of the props.
The caskets are very well dimensioned and the mummy too.
There are many hieroglyphic characters and decorations on each.
Tony Lackner had created a very desirable magic item. You will never tire of looking and playing with these props.
Due to the size of the caskets, you will be able to perform each move with ease, smoothness, and silence, like in an Egyptian Mastaba.

Herbert M. Paufler has created a superb patter to go with this set.
The story involves two strange characters: Omar & Achmed who have decided to plunder a tomb . The rest of their adventure is a funny and weird one.
Mister Paufler has written the patter, which justifies the props and every move.

The only thing I had to retouch a little was the carrying case, to bring a better protection to the props, but I guess that is because I love "boxing" things!

A great Mummy set for the collector. Two thumbs up!!

Ok, time for my New Favorite Wallet!

Thank-you Martin Breese for giving me a reason for buying yet another wallet. Good Bloody Night this is amazing!!! I thought I had enough wallets, but this one really is my favorite now. Honest!

The well written and well produced instruction booklet details 5 routines and I didn’t get past the first one before I just had to photograph and get this review up. You know that feeling when you buy an effect and just love everything about it: the price, the quality, the simplicity, the cunning, the versatility, and the totally mind blowing reaction that is surely going to happen whenever you perform it? This has all of this and more. The wallet is even a great size, instead of those huge wallets you sometimes see.

Yes you can still keep all of your other wallets, but you will use this one the most. I can’t wait to read the other routines.

The World’s Most Fantastic Card-in-Wallet is the first effect, and it truly is. It is a clean no palming version, where the wallet is clearly shown empty when you give it to the spectator and yet the freely chosen and signed card still appears slap bang in the wallet when they open it!

When you practice it you keep pinching yourself because it is so wonderful. Just beautiful.

I could not recommend this effect more.

La Glace Liquide

I was extremely excited to receive Richard’s latest release. It was too long a stretch since the orb came out, but it was worth the wait. I could not wait to open the giant white box as soon as it arrived. As always Richard packaged everything extra well and the assembly was very easy.

The instructions read a little long, but after two tries the set up was very simple. I have owned many versions of the mirror and this is by far the finest. Richard has devised a brilliant mechanical system that keeps a constant steady tension on the silk as it goes thru the mirror. The locking mechanics are also very well done as is the art work on the mirror itself.

The Glass Liquide is on the expensive end even for Richard, but I feel it is worth every dollar. It has taken a proud place nest to the rest of my collection.

astonished

I’m happy to say I have a fairly good selection of Richard’s miracles. When I opened the box and removed this magnificent piece of apparatus I was truly astonished at the beauty of it. No picture that I’ve seen has even come close to revealing the quality of craftsmanship that could produce this work of art.
Richard has outdone himself this time folks. The motive force behind the operation is totally silent. Attention to detail has left no stone unturned.

I don’t think I’ve been this pleased before with a new magic effect. I certainly am delighted that I acted in time, and got one before he sold out. As most of us know, Richard only makes a limited amount, and then, he makes no more. So, don’t wait too long you may still be in luck.

La Glace Liquide

This is another great item from Richard Gerlitz. The beautiful Art Nouveau design makes this apparatus look like an antique mirror instead of magic apparatus. The detailed instructions with photos make the set-up easy. After learning the initial set-up, future set-ups can be done quickly. I was pleased to see the silk dissolve into the glass perfectly and silently. As with all Gerlitz items, there is great attention to detail and all works perfectly. In summary, another outstanding Gerlitz item!

Simply AMAZING!

It’s been almost 3 years since Richard last released a "major" item (last one was the impressive Orb of Truth). What a gorgeous frame was unwrapped from the large shipping box today (even my wife commented that it was much more impressive than any picture on Richard’s site…and I agree).

Putting it together was quick..just add the mirror mechanism onto the back of the frame, slide two brass retainers, and tighten the two screws. The mechanism is an engineering feast to look upon and observe in action. The mirror moves invisibly even with your eyes up close…just be sure there is no dust on the surface (a little spray from Dust-Off will do the trick…best choice overall, as the non-moving mirror parts are thin and fragile)

The art nouveau relief is quite more raised than one would imagine from the images and it’s utterly gorgeous…even with no magical qualities, the frame would stand alone as a work of art in anyone’s home. I can tell you it will definitely be an attention getter, so be prepared to perform.

So what does the spectator see? A performer with a silk in hand, gently cleaning the middle of the mirror in a gentle, circular motion. Suddenly, the silk starts to shrink, imploding in an eerie, slow, steady pace, down to a mere speck under the fingertips before vanishing completely. The hand is withdrawn and all is as it was, a clean mirror surface. The outfit comes with three colored silks, 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch square.

Overall, I am so happy with this latest Gerlitz piece. 3 years was a long wait, though Richard gave us a few mentalism morsels last year to help. This definitely stands out as one of my favorites from Richard.
