More than you think…

So, you are probably thinking, just another chop cup set…WRONG! This is innovative, extremely clever, and entertaining magic at an impressive mini-magic level…my favorite kind of magic. See the video of Doug’s performance and you get only a glimpse of what Jim Riser put together in his workshop. There was a great deal of thought and ingenuity put into the beautiful props that are not so apparent from just seeing the performance. I am telling you that the price justifies what you are getting. You get three double layered gimmicked aluminum spun "shot glasses, two rubber olives, four corks (three gimmicked), special leather performance mat, instuctional DVD, and draw string red bags for storage. This is definitely not your usual chop cup set. And to top it all, Doug sure came up with a very elegant and funny magical routine worthy of the wonderful props.

I sure wish I could say more, but suffice to say that the one stickler on watching Doug’s video was the cork vanishes. Was I in for a great surprise on learning the method when I received my Uncorked set…most diabolical and one I had never seen nor heard of in all my years in magic. I don’t have one Riser item that has not greatly impressed me and held a special place in my collection.

What also brought a smile was Doug’s mention of a “series of magic” coming from him. The first one, Stones of Tutankhamen, was also impressive, both the props, again made by Jim Riser, and the accompanying routine. I will definitely be looking out for the third release from this team.

A highest recommendation on this one!

Wow! The Best Version of A Classic!

I’m a big fan of the original Bob Mason effect and really like the version Magic Wagon did recently too, but this version from Harrison Carroll takes it to a whole new level. The use of the clear board is genius and removes any suspicions the audience might have. The extra board to sum the values streamlines the process and even the little wand to hand out the numbers is another great addition. It is very obvious that Mr. Carroll has worked with the basic idea for many years and has put all of his ideas and gathered suggestions, into this marvelous ultimate product.

This is one that will totally fool them. It is perfectly clean and easy to do and will be a big hit in your act. Most Highly Recommended

simple and direct mental magic

Ive had this effect almost as long as it’s been available, and have found it a great sucess. What you recieve, is the nicely made black bag containing part of the secret, and something else, that contains the other part of the secret. and naturally the simple , easy to understand instructions.
This easy to master,( i dont usualy like that phrase, but here it suits) effect will give you plenty of scope in which to add your own personality to the routine.

as an added thought, i have come up with a black ball type of routine, that uses 4 or more coins, one of which is marked, and the others not.
the only downside to this effect, is that you cant really give the spectator the coin back, if you have them mark it at the begining. but thats a minor thing, which is why i gave this excelent effect 4 stars instead of 5…

A 5 Star Winner! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

If, like me, you have been performing magic for quite some time, most likely you have in your possesion a good stable of coin tricks.

If you own any of Joe Porper’s props, you know that their quality just can’t be beat…period.

This "new twist" on the familiar Connie Hayden-type coin props is a WINNER in every respect.

The included props are of the highest possible quality, extremely colorful, very easy to work with and are highly visual and an absolute bargain at the price.

In addition, a TERRIFFIC routine and presentation is included.

With Poker being so popular today, presenting this "Mini-Illusion" up close and personal (and even in the spectator’s hands) provides a very spectacular 3-way punch, and the best part is, at the end you are left clean and the spectators are totally blown away. This is a convincer folks!

Do yourself a favor: JUST BUY IT….YOU WON"T REGRET IT.

Poker Chip Surprise receives my highest possible reccomendation!

Let’s monkey around!

I purchased this years ago from Hank Lee and perform it at every show.

The children love it and it lends itself to a lot of audience participation. You can bring two or three kids onto the stage and use almost every monkey and ape joke/pun that you know.

"Hey, Hey stop monkeying around!", "Where are you kids from – The planet of the apes?" Etc.. You get the idea.

At the end, when I seem to have lost Chico and turn around so that the kids see that he is hanging on my back I always use the line " Are you saying that I have a monkey on my back" ? Which always gets a chuckle from the adults, and no one has ever suggested that it was inappropriate.

I love this trick because it packs flat, plays big and is made very well. The only word of caution is that the PIN on chico is VERY sharp and cuts up the plastic envelope that it comes in. You do not want to risk hanging it onto a child’s back, If another child tries to pull it off, the pin will rip clothing and skin. This is why I only hang it onto myself. And in fact put it on my back from the onset of the trick.

All in all it is a great trick!
Enjoy!

Proof Positive

If any collectors still have doubts whether Magic Wagon are modern masters in the art of apparatus crafting, this effect should destroy those doubts. The Mod Quad Penetration is "without a doubt," absolutely stunning in construction and effect. What Magic Wagon has done again, is taken an old dog and taught it a new trick. Or, in clearer terms, they’ve taken a good old trick, redesigned and reengineered it, and transformed it into a great illusion.

Let’s begin with the construction … quality all the way. From the meticulous fitting and finishing, to the hardware selection, and decision to use real glass verses plexi, Magic Wagon is even proud of themselves with this piece (they pat themselves on the back in the instructions). I love the weight and size of this piece. It is heavy enough to be serious, but not so large as to be cumbersome. The engineering is magnificent as well, with the secret mechanism operating smoothly and predictably. Much improved from older models.

I also love the design. Magic Wagon has a knack for creating mysterious and mystical looking props that don’t make excuses. They are magic props, plain and simple. When you perform with them you need a story to accompany your presentation, since the item at hand is clearly not an everyday object. And that’s okay. These creations deserve special attention. The Mod Quad Penetration is a cross between an archaic artifact and a victorian science experiment. It is clearly not modern, but it begs to be explored.

Now let’s discuss the effect. This one will leave them stunned. Basically, you offer a solid sheet of glass divided into quadrants. You cover each side with a magnetic panel, and the spectator can name a quadrant they would like to have "penetrated." You can demonstrate it yourself, or give the spectator a chance. Magic Wagon suggests a sucker type of demonstration, but it’s really up to you. If performed properly there is simply no rational explanation for how this "experiment" can work. And, the ease of operation and usable size make this penetration very easy to operate. You can really concentrate on getting the most out of each phase of the presentation as described in the instructions, or embellish and improvise to suit your style. In the end, all four sections of the glass are penetrated by individual ribbons leaving the spectator with no idea, hunch, hint, notion, clue, or inkling on how you performed this ingenious demonstration.

This is classic magic the way it was meant to be. Well designed, well made, and very, very, well done.
