Review by Andy Martin for Collector's Card Box by Mikame Craft

Pretty box – the sort Magician’s love!
This is a very pretty box from Mikame Craft. It isn’t gimmicked in anyway, but is perfect for having a spectator stab anywhere in the deck to choose their card.
If you’re like me a well made card box is always fun to have, and this one fits the bill beautifully.

Another wondeful Card Box from Mikame
Another beautifully made card box from Mikame Craft. It isn’t gimmicked in anyway, but great for do as I do and double prediction effects. Comes with a cool routine where the spectator actually names the two chosen cards.
Review by Andy Martin for Wizard's Chess by Lee Woodside

Harry Potter I presume?
Harry Potter is such a huge success, anything that reminds people of it can be bathed with similar success! And what better scene to remember than the final showdown of Wizard’s Chess?
That clever guy Lee Woodside came up with this great routine that is simple to do but really quite a fooler. The basic premise of the effect is that you show a box of chess pieces that fought bravely in a recent game of Wizard’s Chess. You turn your back and ask the spectator to choose one of the broken pieces and conceal it in their fist. Without facing the audience the performer of course is able to divulge their chosen piece.
The method is simple, but works. Lee Woodside has a quite amazing list of interesting and unusal effects, click here for some examples.
Review by Igor Moll for Dice Bomb by Empire Magic, Dr. Sawa

Nice dice
I have this one for a time now and it is every time a great pleasure to perform. The look at their faces when they see the dice exploding in eight (!) little dice is priceless. Very, very easy to perform with an instant (surprising) reward. Totally undetectable gimmick. This is what I like in magic most… Although it is good value for money, the props could have been nicer made (it is a production item…) and it is a little bit difficult to carry around. But believe me, you will love this.

Card Spider Tip
I had the same problem setting that thread up so here’s what I did:
Attach the end of about 15″ of thread to the back near the spindle. Take a piece of wire about 6″ long and bend the end of the wire into a tiny ‘J’ hook that fits through the hole. Put your hook through the hole, snatch the thread, and pull it through to the front. Lightly scotch tape the tread to the back CENTER edge of the card to be forced and place it in the pocket. When the tread wraps around the spindle and the card goes into the spider’s legs the tape will release the card. With this wire hook gadget you can set the effect up in about 2 minutes. I’ve been using the same thread for 8 years.
Hope this works for you, it’s a great effect and David Ginn has a wonderful kids routine in one of his books.

Houdini eat your heart out!
Here’s a neat little close-up miracle based on the Substitution Trunk. Two cards are shown the queen and the king, and they changes places very cleanly.
The props are well crafted and the effect is certainly easy to do and convincing.
Review by Andy Martin for Nomadic Void – Stage Size by Definitive Magic

Still clever and now in Stage Size!
If you have seen the original Nomadic Void you’ll know what to expect here. The quality is good and the cards are much bigger so that they can be seen in larger venues.
I prefer the close-up version, since the handling is just a bit easier due to the size of the cards. But still a wonderful effect.
