Review by Mike Vance for A Poker Story by Max Krause

Great card trick
Poker Story is a beautiful performance piece. The patter is well thought out and flows nicely. The props are well-constructed and easy to use. The handling is a piece of cake. And it has a nice kicker at the end. You’ll love doing this trick.

Hardcore Mentalism
Max’s bills are works of art. They make serial number divination a piece of cake.
The design is extremely well thought out, removing memorization from the equation entirely. That’s good news for people with poor memory, like myself. These bills are incredibly easy to use.

Great Craftsmanship
The Necklace is crafted beautifully. You won’t believe your eyes.
Add to that the magic/surprise effect, and you’ve got a winner! The handling is easy for magicians and non-magicians alike. The patter flows. This is an incredible effect. You will not be disappointed with it.

Another doable Danis Gem
I just received this gem from France’s master magic craftsman. Francois has a essentially trimmed down the classic wandering mummy to a fantastic close up piece. You tell a whimsical story about a tomb where a team of archeologists find a mummified cat that has a rare gem inside of it and the cat can levitate ( really!) and when put in a sarcophagus for safe keeping vanishes in one moment only to reappear in the next. What Fun this is. And of course this deluxe illusion is made out of the finest materials i.e. maple, ebony etc. No sleight of hand needed just a good presentation and you have a great micro magic illusion!

the age old question
How many times have you been asked "Can you make my wife dissapear?" Well with this little gem from Howard Schwarzman, you can show a prototype of just that with this micro illusion. I’ve had more fun with this over the years and the best thing about it, it will fool everyone including magicians.

Simply Beautiful.
Larry Becker is one of the true gentlemen of magic and mentalism and has some of the most amazing ideas. I always liked the first Chameleon Chest released by Larry and Viking. However, this new one that Larry has created with the help of Tony Curtis is breathtaking!
The box is small, silent, very solid and beautiful to behold. The original one is still fine, but in comparison it hard to imagine why you would ever choose it compared to this beauty. Due to it’s size I feel this is even more versatile than the original.
These are in very short supply so my advice to you is stampede over to Larry’s site and grab one now before they are all gone!

Perfectly Simple and Beautiful!
I’m a big fan of Max Krause’s innovative deceptions. This item is one of my favorites – it is so clean it hurts. It works precisely as described with no switches, electronics, or peeks.
You pull out a stack of bills from your wallet and toss them face down on the table for the spectator to mix. One of the bills is chosen (free choice) and hidden away from view whilst the others are replaced in the wallet – you do not need to see the wallet. You then ask the spectator to concentrate on the serial number and you can immediately reveal it.
As a bonus you can now take this chosen bill and vanish it right in front of their eyes only to have the bill appear back in any impossible location of your choosing.
This effect has many different presentations and you will quickly think up your own variations. I have never seen work like Max’s with bills before – it is brilliant!
I’ve been working on my new close-up show and this has found a prime spot in it. This year I’m going for a very stripped down set, and SSK fits the bill perfectly.
I love this, thanks Max!
Highly Recommended for anyone who really likes to fry them!

Underrated and Overlooked
I can’t understand why this effect has been around so long and hasn’t received more attention. Maybe that’s good for people like me, who love using this innocent, but devious contraption.
Imagine a box with valuables inside and keys freely… honestly freely… chosen and even traded amongst the audience members. You can be given a key that they select. They can even change their minds mid-way through the performance, and trade their keys, or your key. It doesn’t matter. What does matter… and this is the key difference… is that your key always works. But, you never need to touch the box. Yep. That’s right. Unlike other tricky lock effects where the magician takes the last key and is able to open the lock, this effect is entirely self-working. You always get everything in the box, and you do absolutely nothing.
Review by Greg for Ghost Writer's Box by Trickery, Magic Wagon

Blown Away by the Quality
I just opened mine and without even performing with it, I am blown away by the quality. No surprise, considering The Trickery is driving the bus and Magic Wagon is supplying the bus. That is THE A-Team in my mind. So far, this match up between The Trickery and Magic Wagon has produced only winners.
This gets an A+ for craftsmanship, but I still need to work with it to grade it further. Perfect finish on all surfaces…wood, metal, and interior. Even the weight feels right. It’s elegant, but substantial. Even after purchasing at least 75% of Magic Wagon’s offerings (including The Trickery/Magic Wagon team-ups), I still can’t get over their consistent quality. And, couple that with Howard’s (of The Trickery) devious mind…look out!!!
My one, and only complaint is the same one I have with all the items Magic Wagon produces.. they look so darn good I want to hoard them away rather than use them. And I know, that’s not good. So, I’m going to make myself use this effect. It really does "look" and "act" like a winner. I’m very sure it will perform like one.
