This item is the brainchild of the the talented Norwegian Øyvind Kaurstad and it has been causing quite a stir over at the Cafe and on YouTube. Check-out Rob Rand’s wonderful video to view the action!

It is a very clever device built to some pretty tight tolerances using a Digital Printer and some people even prefer it to Richard Gerlitz’s Family Ties which of course was based upon Ian Ogilvey Blocks of San Yen. There is no doubt it looks very convincing. I found setting it up to be a pain, but Øyvind assures me it gets easier with practice. This is one of those effects where the set-up is harder than the performance for sure. If you have poor eye-sight, arthritis or lack of patience I would not recommend this item, because you may struggle to set it up. I will say that Øyvind provides excellent printed and online instructions to help with the set-up and it certainly makes it easier if you watch the video first.

Once you have it set-up you have a rare and amazing fooler on your hands for sure!

I love this item from Thomas! More magical and more convincing than any item like it (even than the beautiful Mystery of the Pyramids Outdone by Wellington). It is just 6″ high and you can show inside the the tube before and after each move, you can separate the cubes during the routine, and you also have the cubes changing color at the end too!

I think it is one of the cleverest things that Thomas has put out in the last few years. Really clever magic and now hard to find.

Great Job Thomas!

This is another wonderful item from Mel – the trusty Mirror Box – and what a beauty it is. It comes in three sizes and this is the medium size. If you ever need to produce something, these mirror boxes will cover most things – and they feel so good in your hands.

What continues to amaze me about Mel’s work is not only how consistently well made his magic is, but also how he keeps the prices so low, his pricing is even more amazing than his products.

Highly Recommended for everyone!

Dragon’s Chamber is inspired by Alan Warner’s wonderful Siamese Ribbon and the limited edition here. It is much larger and more ornate than Alan’s version and like the Lintenkabinet, which came later, this version can be shown on all sides. In addition, set-up is the easiest I have seen. I’m very tempted to keep this bad boy.

Really one of the best things Magic Wagon have put out and highly Recommended!

When it comes to design Magic Wagon pretty much always go bold and ornate. It seems this is particularly the case when they redo a classic by the genius Magiro. Magiro’s originals are nearly always small without frills, but Magic Wagon like to amp them up as can been seen in their versions of Hydro Die (original vs remake), Witches’s Tunnel (original vs remake) and now Babuska (original vs remake).

Normally, I prefer the simplicity of the original but in this case I really do like this version. It works very smoothly. It does take some practice and a little nerve, but the best magic often does. As a beautifully crafted prop you will find it hard to beat, and if you put the time in you’ll have a true miracle on your hands!

Highly Recommended for Collector’s everywhere!

So here is another version of the T.A. Waters’ amazing Box Office which has been recreated so many times it is hard to keep up. This one is from the Mentalist Dexter put out in a limited edition in 2001 as part of his “Master Mentalism Series”. It was sold exclusively through Hocus-Pocus at the time. An ornate version of this wonderful classic item with certificate of authenticity and a unique routine from Dexter.

This is easily the most beautiful Light and Heavy Chest I have seen and Norm only made one of them! Norm Nielsen took Doug Malloy’s beautiful Gravity Box and decorated it so beautifully you’ll just want to hold it and stare. This works like a dream too. Particularly if you use one of Gimpy’s Light Heavy Performance Mats.

This is a beautifully made item and a very clean, convincing and simple penetration. This effect is easy to do and made in high quality plastic, similar to the beautiful items created by the master himself: Eddy Taytelbaum. You rarely see this sort of quality work these days.

Highly recommended for lovers of fine close-up magic.

Review by Andy Martin for Banner Nest of Boxes by Illusion Arts Magic
5 out of 5

The Banner Nest of Boxes is not your standard nest of boxes effect and this beautiful set from Illusion Arts Magic is no exception. Instead of simply vanishing an item and finding it nested in the smallest box with the Banner Nest of Boxes you introduce the boxes and take out the smallest box and place the item (it could be a Dove or any other valuable object) inside. You place the smallest box on a tray (supplied) and rebox the two larger boxes and hand them to the spectator. Everyone can see the small box on the tray, and you cover it up with a large foulard, lift the foulard up into the air, and with a big display the box appears to disappear in mid-air and the foulard can be shown on both sides with no sign of the little box. Now the Spectator can open the boxes again, with no prompting or moves from the magician, and they find that the smallest box has appeared back inside the nest and contains the object.

This is a wonderful illusion, made beautifully by Craig Beytien and comes with everything you need to perform.
