Another great trick from Mr. Dill

I believe Dean has provided the magic community with a great stage and closeup item for what I believe to be fun routine to perform. It is basically a rope trick with 3 of Dean’s routines supplied. I am sure as time goes on that more folks will come up with ideas of their own to incorporate their use with the box. It is very well made of quality hardwood and also has a beautiful finish. It is a bit pricey for a rope trick but this one won’t sit on the shelf and collect dust like some props do. I think you will have fun with this one.

This is closeup at its finest

Nobody doing closeup magic shouldn’t be with out this little gem of a fooler. Best of all, it can be handled before and/or after the routine is complete. People marvel at this little prop and if you want to own a great finger chopper/penetrator, this is the way to go.
This has a 5star wow factor that will put a smile on their face and yours as you deviously "put the blade on their finger". I own the Miller version and have used it for 100’s of demos and it still performs just fine. I am sure the Viking version lives up to the Viking standards and quality also. As a side note….I would really like to see a "head chopper" version of this someday. George…are you listening?

One of the greatest ever.

I have been using this model finger chopper for at least 20 years now, and i have only ever used the one prop. Unlike many choppers this one keeps looking good, because of its clasic, simple looks. But looks can be deceptive as you will find out!

An absolute winner, that should be much more expensive!!!!

Much more than the Zombie!

So all of us at one time or another have either performed the Zombie floating ball effect, or dreamed of performing it. I remember even having a cheap plastic one when I was a kid. Performed well its one of the most fascinating magical effects ever devised. Its inventor, Joe Karson, is even more fascinating!

I have found reading this book very interesting; a real page turner! Joe was not a saint by any means, but he was clearly a borderline genius, a very talented inventor, and an incredible entertainer. Michael Rose has done a wonderful job of filling in all the blanks about this colorful character. A highly recommended read.

So small yet so cool!

Its amazing how small this beautiful effect by Alan Warner is. It’s an old discontinued item that Alan Warner has recently revived. And I’m glad he did!

The effect is very clean, convincing and entertaining and can be read here.

It’s been a while since I have picked up one of Alan’s beauties and its so nice to see his greatness continues. This effect is precisely and beautifully made and highly recommended!

Great magic in a very small package

This is a very cute effect. You have a small teak case divided into two adjacent compartments. One side holds a miniature red deck of cards and the other has a blue back deck. One deck is chosen and a card selected in a fair manner. The selected card is inserted in the compartment with the opposite colored deck with the purpose of finding its match in that deck. The case is covered with a teak cover exhibiting a contrasting white/blue banding. The selected card is revealed and the magician is shocked to hear the identity of the card for it is known as the karate kard. He removes the cover and finds that the red deck has been chopped up in its compartment and only one red card remains intact next to the selected card. They match. Beautiful props and clever method, all in one very small package. This is more micro than mini magic for Alan. Love it, but you have to love everything that Alan makes.

Finally Alan Warner has bought back his Mummy!

So after a long time Alan Warner is back making one of his favorite effects: the Mummy!

The new version is even better than the original, if that is possible, with more teak work, and some enhancements to the smoothness of the opertation and performance.

So, if you have been trying to track one of these down, now maybe is the time you can get one. It is sure to be a hit and is most highly recommended. Click here for the effect.

Another beautiful Mummy!!

What’s better than one Mummy…why, TWO Mummies. This new version of the classic Warner Mummy, named appropriately Mummy II, is gorgeous. Granted, no radical changes have occurred in overall design and method (but who wants to mess with a true masterpiece), there are some very nice new improvements. This is the first Mummy made by Alan using ALL teak components. The open coffin is all teak and finished in a satin varnish, thus sealing the natural oils that have a tendency to stain the mummy’s wrapping. Previous coffins used clear plastic curved ends and at one time the base was painted black. The hieroglyphics on the new rectangular wooden plague adds more to the Egyptian theme than the "shiny" golden plaque in the original. The mummy itself has a new head similar to the one used in Cairo Con. The choice of gemstone on the sarcophagus I received is very beautiful. This has always been one of Alan’s hallmark pieces and no Warner collection is complete without a Mummy. Most Highly Recommended!

A True Classic!!

This book requires no introduction nor review. Plain and simple, it’s a classic belonging in any card magic enthusiast’s library. I have mine next to Giobbi’s Card College series. Ed Marlo has contributed immensely to card magic and I am glad this series is now under one convenient hard cover book. I am particularly glad it was released as it nicely replaces the loose soft bound series I sold on ebay.

Die Box old hat? Hardly! And this is Beautiful!

I never really liked the die box effect until I picked this beauty up from Mel Babcock. It has a wonderful weight to it and sounds great. It has the neat door opening feature so that you can show the die in either side of the box at any time during the demostration. This really convinces the audience that the die is still in the box. Very, very highly recommended, as is all of Mel’s beautiful magic!

Question: Is Mel Babcock as good as Owen’s?
Answer: In most cases Owen’s is probably a bit better than Mr Mel. However, you can pay anywhere from three to ten times as much at Owen’s so I don’t think its a fair comparison at all. For the price Mel Babcock rules the world, for twice the price Mel Babcock rules the world. For thrice the price he still looks very strong!
