After many years I finally have a set of not only the most beautiful Nest of Boxes on the planet, but one of the most impressive props for magic ever created, period. I believe this to be Richard Gerlitz’s finest hour.  These Butterfly Boxes are truly breathtaking. And the method is equally as captivating. For the first time in years I was taken aback when I opened up this package.

Many magician’s are looking for that same excitement they had when they purchased their first trick, but after each new item arrives it gets more difficult to be moved.   If you have seen as much impressive magic as I have, it becomes almost impossible to be really moved.  Well, these Butterfly Boxes did just that.  Richard has thought through every aspect of this old chestnut and created some unique innovations along the way.  Not only will it fool magicians (if you care), but the operation is so smooth, you’ll kick yourself.  Richard has thought through every aspect, from set-up, to silently loading with minimal angle issues, to allowing the spectator to hold the last three boxes in their hands as the smaller boxes are removed.

Warning:  If you are lucky enough to find a set of these you will not only be foolish if you don’t purchase them, no matter the price, but you will also look at all of your other “cool” magic in a different light, because one you reach this level, everything else pales next to it.

To me, the amazing Richard Gerlitz still reigns supreme when it comes to the creation of beautiful and amazing magic.

Great Conversation Piece! A nice little effect that can be performed right under your spectators noses! I have shown it several times and it always gets a good reaction. The only down side is I wish the materials were a little more heavy duty for the price. Both items that I own are quite fragile. That is the only down side though. Beautiful looking and works great.

This was a great effect until it stopped working! Bad points are it is very heavy for a “light heavy” box but was cool to be able to have the spectator open and close. Sadly, after being on display and only used about 3 dozen times, it stopped working. When I contacted Gimpy, he said there was nothing he could do to fix it even when I sent it to him. Very disappointed in his lack of care for people spending pretty hefty amounts on his products.

I owned one of these about sixteen years ago and am pleased to have one again.  Now I have the big decisions of what close-up items I am going to use to fill it!  Thanks to Harry Allen I was able to get two contrasting close-up pads that fit perfectly and can be switched out instantly.

I’ve seen similar versions of this table/drawer but none are made to the same quality that Harry and his team put together. In fact, I notice now that Harry has them in Cherry, Maple, and Walnut as well as the original Oak.  Time to start saving!

I love this little device! If you want to do some sort of switchboard in a walk around situation, this is the perfect item! It is about the size of a deck of cards and has 3 distinct and simple phases that build to a very satisfying conclusion that is sure to mystify your audience. You can’t compare this with the Wellington version, but neither should you. You’re never going to be in the situation where the Wellington Switchboard is going to work in a strolling environment. Clearly the Cobra Light is not as elegant as the Wellington, but it is not trying to be and its bare bones nature makes it more attractive for the performance style.

I have also been very impressed with the service from Cobra Magic. I had an issue with my Cobra Light which I purchased months ago from another dealer and I contacted Cobra Magic, and the owner said no problem I’ll send you a new one, and 10 days later it was here. No charge and working perfectly!

This is one you will use!

A wonderful clean penetration using the classic “Block Release” method beautifully crafted by Magic Wagon. It really looks impossible and clean with nothing added or taken away. I have seen a few versions using the same method in recent years the most obvious comparison being the Chinese Cube Mystery from Thomas Pohle but also The Ultimate Die Penetration and I’m sure there are others. This is easily the prettiest version I have seen!

Those Magic Wagon cats love penetration effects and I know why, they do them so well. This beauty offers two penetrations for the price of one! The first time you place the sword in and drop the block inside the top and the block stops. Then after a tap the block appears to penetrate the sword and drops right through to the bottom. The second time you try it, it appears to fail, but only to be found securely locked onto the sword itself. A great surprise beautifully made. Similar to the beautiful Lok Block released by Delben.

Another Highly Recommended item from Magic Wagon.

Lovely ornate chest and cubes for a simple, but effective detection system. There are no electronics, nothing is added or taken away and you don’t need to touch the box to divine which cube was taken. It is always ready to go and can be used multiple times. In fact you can ask them to take out 1, 2, or 3 blocks and you can always tell which ones are removed. Very difficult to detect the method.

This box is really beautiful!

For those of you that are keeping up with the Magic Wagon Collector Line it is hard to not be really happy. Look at all of these beauties!

Wow a very clean and convincing penetration beautifully created by Magic Wagon. You know if it is based on a Jack Hughes idea it has to be gold, and this one certainly is. There are no funny moves and it could not look more realistic if you tried – show the solid glass, place on the squares and stand it on the frame then start penetrating! Really works smoothly.

Another beauty from those amazing craftsmen at Magic Wagon!

To see is to believe! I have repurchased a few of the Alan Warner teak items over the years since selling off my huge collection more than ten years ago, and this is one of my favorites. To see and touch Alan’s magic is really the only way to appreciate the time and effort he spends on every intricate detail of design and construction.

This is certainly one of his finer pieces of craftsmanship and the effect is also very clean and surprising. It blends in very nicely with his other Egyptian effects.

If you have never seen Alan’s magic up close he is still selling his beautiful magic and you can see what is available and purchase from Alan directly by going to this site. You will not be disappointed!
