You can’t top this one

2 days ago I received from Kenna Thompson an original Kline model made in the 1950’s and after some minor buffing and two applications of hand rubbed Carnauba wax, I became so excited with this piece. I owned years ago a “later” model but it doesn’t come close to the quality of the original. The base is clearly, and deceptively, smaller in size especially the larger perimeter at the bottom. The top “flare” section of the base is beautifully turned with a nicer design than the later models. The “lip” at the top of the base where the inverted glass rest is larger causing a deeper recess to keep the glass more securely in place. BTW, the original glass is smaller and nicer designed than currently used; mine had a sort of lacy flowery etching around the the top half of the glass that lended a more gracefull look to the apparatus. The mechanics are also clearly better and sturdier from what I can remember from the model I had owned. The rich cherry wood used in these original pieces is gorgeous. The coin stand is much better than the current version; it’s appears rather “compact” and more difficult to believe it can hide 4 half dollars.

I have always loved this effect and always pursued any versions of it. I promptly bought CW’s Silver Odyssey when it came out. Bottom line: if you ever get a chance to buy a true original Kline, the earlier the model the better, do so and you will not regret it.

A true favorite of the CW line

My review is for the original version which is completely mechanical in that the release is through a clock spring motor so timing is critical but easily manageable and the base is beautiful furniture finished solid walnut rather than brass as in the new version. Otherwise the workings are the same. The effect is startling and dramatic. The ring that appears in the ribbon is the actual spectator’s ring; there is no switching. Very clever item from the devious minds at CW.

Fascinating piece of magic

I have owned this CW piece for years, having bought it when it was first released. I have always thought of Creation as one of CW’s more dramatic piece to perform. The accompanying storyline is great. The use of flash paper for that magic moment and the beautifully designed prop makes this a real winner. The prop is well made and accomplishes the magic with ease. Very entertaining and most highly recommended.

Very Nice Indeed!!

Many are already familiar with this effect and the availability of the basic box in a variety of woods, but this beats the bunch. What a nice looking prop! I only have two problems that I see. First, the finish, though well applied, is a little too glossy for my taste; you can’t readily appreciate the natural grains in the woods especially with abundant lighting. Second, the props are too nice to use; you want to only put it on exhibit among your collection and just look at it.

Cute and Clever!

The props are, as usual, beautiful to behold. Teak sure has such a wide variation in color and grain that as your Warner collection grows, you begin to wonder if Alan does’nt use other exotic woods. This item has an entertaining story and interesting props – only the case with a “J” is teak. The method is clever and the piece a definite must for the Warner collector.

Absolutely Marvelous!!!!!

You can’t find any fault with Alan’s magic. I have been collecting quality magic for over 15 years and in all the years of seeing great stuff, Alan’s Mini-Magic is, in my opinion, the best I have seen. This item is simply beautiful. The craftsmanship is superb and delivered the same awe inspiring impact as the Flight of the Falcon did when I received that masterpiece. The storyline is entertaining and the magic dramatic. I really don’t know what more I can say, but, Alan….thank you very much!!

One of the best effects in the Milson-Worth line!!

The apparatus is beautifully done the Milson-Worth way. Lyn Johnson did an excellent job with his version of this classic. The construction and paint work are fabulous. Gold and shiny black laquer adorn this piece that basically allows a black silk to “absorb” the image of the Queen of Heart on the jumbo-sized card onto the silk after the second pass through the hole in the card. You end with a clearly blank jumbo card and a image of the card on the silk. Great magic and great apparatus to perform it. I would say that this my favorite of the MW line. Very Highly Recommended!!

Nice and different Johnson Prod. item

I have owned one of this for many years and I believe they were discontinued years ago…but I could be wrong. It’s a clever diversion from the coin line that put Johnson Products on the map. These are nicely made props that basically causes a blank card “sealed” between two clear lucite plates to change to a selected card. The routine is entertaining and one you will get a kick out of performing it.
