Sneaks up right behind you!

Here’s another practical effect from Max Krause that starts off simply enough but the kicker ending really blows them away. This is my sort of magic for sure – one more for the Max Krause Strolling Magic Show!

In effect, you ask a spectator to punch holes randomly in a dollar bill – the more the merrier in fact. This alone entertains the audience as they can’t quite believe you want them to punch all the holes in the bill. Once done they fold up the bill and it is placed in a tiny draw string bag that they put in their pocket. Now a card is chosen and lost in the deck. After some byplay you attempt to find their card and tell them if you fail they get to keep the bill (with holes in!). After 3 tries you still have no luck finding the card, so you say they can keep the bill. Now, this is where it gets weird – as they pull the bill out the holes have all rearranged themselves so that they form the name of the chosen card! It is quite unbelievable!

You can choose to let them keep the bill as a perfect souvenir or keep the bill for the next time. What is cool is that you can use this for any card or other message.

Classic Krause – Simple but Astonishing!

So this little beauty is one that will probably disappoint some people because the method doesn’t require any intricate gimmicks. However, for me, it is one of the most practical and potentially most devastating items Max sells.

The biggest hurdle for me was actually wearing the cool looking necklace – I’ve never really worn a necklace! But for this effect at least I’m going to start, because I believe the impact on lay people is that strong.

Once again with Max’s routines you need to follow the whole routine before making your mind-up. I have found that by watching the whole DVD or reading all the instructions you will see how a good trick turns into a miracle.

The necklace looks great and authentic – it is a great ice breaker if you need one, and the look on the spectator’s face is priceless when it changes to their card. Everything can be examined before and after. It is a very memorable effect.

More Innovation Deceptions from Max Krause!

Here we have another great item from Max Krause at Innovative Deceptions! Max’s magic for the most part involves simple principles applied to sure-fire magic – this is magic you will use and will work for you 100% of the time.

When I first read the method for this item I thought: that is a neat idea, but maybe not as strong as some of his other items. However, if you bother to read further into the instructions you’ll quickly realize that in fact it is a beautiful idea – very simple in method, but with Max’s routine the method become invisible and you are left with a very strong effect. In fact, it is perfect to lead into something like his incredible Impromptu Supreme Serial Killer: in the first you show how you are sensitive to them lying and then you take it to the next level and actually read their mind. I love it!

I’m starting to think that my next walk around show will be called "The Max Krause Strolling Magic Show"!

Much, Much better than any 6 Card Repeat!

I was recently told about some great magic that Max Krause at Innovative Deceptions was producing and I was so impressed with his magic that he quickly became one of my featured dealers and inventors. It is rare that I find new material of this caliber and it certainly has me excited.

I’ll be reviewing a bunch of Max’s great magic so stay tuned. This trick is really rather clever – at first glance you’ll think it’s just a version of Tommy Tucker’s Six Card Repeat. But if you dig a little deeper you’ll find a real gem. Firstly it has a very logical storyline for why you are discarding different amounts of cards. Secondly, each time you discard you end up with better and better poker hands. Thirdly you consistently show the cards back and front to have blue backs. Finally, when you end up with the kicker climax of a straight flush the colors of the backs are now red.

The moves are easy and it the whole routine pretty much works itself. It will take some practice to set-up the trick and run through it, but there are no sleights and if you "invest" about an hour you’ll be golden.

This was my first surprise out of Max’s great line of magic, and there are many more to come.
