This is one of my favourite books it’s simply fantastic more than 800 pages full of beatiful ideas. There are a lot of new things, the effects are perfect and can fool even a magician. It’s a giant resource for mental magic. Any mentalist must have it!

He’s great
In my opinion Phil Goldstein (alias Max Maven) is the best living mentalist in the world. I don’t think all his best material is here (but there is some..) The videoset is great, every effect is performed and explained clearly you can learn a lot just watching him. Some effects are worth the whole cost of video. Again a must for a mentalist!

WOW,,,What a MUMMY!!
Literally, that was my impression when I unpacked this beauty. I have been an avid collector of Richard’s work and this is one great piece. It’s visually stunning and the method is so smooth and effortless. The apparent "stock" mummies used may put off many but they are, first, beautifully detailed. Second, extensive precision modifications by Richard himself are involved in the mummy and coffins to make this miracle a true handcrafted item. If one read some of the detail steps involved in building this effect, you would no doubt admire Richard’s ingenuity and commitment to excellence, typical of his magic as anyone who owns one his pieces can attest.
Richard has added "drama" to this effect with more realistic scaled props. The base serves so well as a "ritual altar" and center stage to perform this popular mystery…nice touch, Richard. Richard has probably contributed the best version of this effect, though admittedly I also have a soft spot for the Warner Mummy…just love his magic but that is another story. Richard’s new Mummy definitely requires no awkward moves and quite silent in operation. I would definitely rank the Gerlitz Mummy well above the "toy-like" Taytelbaum Mummy that sold recently on ebay at inflated prices…I am sure to get an outrage over this comment!
Richard’s work is becoming one hot collectible and a wise investment. Just see the winning bids on his sold-out items in ebay and you will realize this fact. Also, remember Richard only makes 10 to 20 pieces so they are rare and collectors seem to hold on to these babies so few become available again. Most Highly Recommended. Thanks, so much!

Simple and Effective Penetration
This clever piece of Mini-Magic represents the completion of my Alan Warner Mini-Magic collection that can be viewed in all its glory here. It is a old chestnut, and one of Alan’s earliest Teak pieces, but very well made by the master craftsman himself.
In this version there are no funny moves or sleights. The block is loaded, the bar locks the block in place, and then on the command of the magician the block falls!

I think "Mini" is an understatement
When I first heard of this Warner item, I figured it would be a nice prop to use for the miniature decks Alan uses in some of his other pieces, so I was quite taken by the size of it when I unpacked it. It will easily hold a full cased Bridge-sized deck. It’s beautiful and pictures really don’t allow you to appreciate it as when you actually hold this box in your hand. The mechanism is smooth and finely crafted. The teak is admittedly simple compared to the richly grained teak in other Warner pieces but Alan wanted the most seasoned wood he had to prevent shrinkage and problems with the drawer. I still love it. It does look "big" among my Warner collection, but I am not complaining.
Grading a Warner item can be a challenge because does one grade his item to the rest of his collection or to all props in general on the market. To keep perspective intact, there are 3,4, and 5 stars within the collection itself, but since I assume I am comparing these items to "everything" out there, then ALL of Alan’s pieces are a clear 5+ stars. Craftsmanship like Alan’s is hard to come by, folks.

A classic in such a tiny prop!
Remember the "Vampire Escape" effect…well, this is similar though the mechanics are, perhaps more sophisticated and much smaller, think pocket size. Not much is visible on the outside but the inside says it all. Remember that this is an all wood item. This is, without any doubt, another example of great craftsmanship from the man who can do it, repeatedly. This is one of Alan’s "earlier" items and is very welcomed in my collection.

The Very Best
These are the finest card guards on the market…Period. They will keep your deck perfectly flat and protected at all times and, yet, are still light and efficient to handle. I cannot recommend these more highly…they really are the best.

All other mummies pale next to these Beauties!
So with great anticipation I received my Mystic Mummy from Richard Gerlitz yesterday. I was unfortunately put off by something that no one else sees, the bottom of the base was unfinished. Richard, of course, immediately rectified that and the very next day shipped out a painted and finished base – which all subsequent bases will have. That is service the Gerlitz way!
Now that I have the base out of my head I can sit down and really take in these beautiful Mummies. And they really are beautiful. I have taken 6 sets of photos so far and still not happy with them. But the ones I have will have to do! Not only do they look like a work of art, but there are no moving slides or switches, and no sounds to worry about. My wife loves them too!
This is the last Gerlitz piece I can afford for a while, but what a way to go! Richard Gerlitz really has created the best version of this effect that I have seen. Compare these with the Taytelbaum Mummies that susposedly sold for $3500 a few weeks ago on ebay and I’d take these any day of the week.

This is a bloody Miracle!
Well … none of us need any more packet tricks. Or do we? This trick from Elmwood Magic uses a whole deck, but it is certainly a packet trick. Its easy to do, with no sleights, no double face/double back cards, and even when you have the cards in your hand it works quite amazingly.
Now to get as slick as Paul Richards will take a lifetime of practice and smooth talking, but you could be up and running with this baby in about 30 minutes after reading the instructions – and look good!
The basic routine goes like this: openly count off 6 cards face down, show the rest of the deck to be clearly mixed (reds and blacks) and you can shuffle them if you want. Place the body of the deck aside. Now show the six cards that were placed face down and show that you have 3 reds and 3 blacks. You now proceed to cleanly deal one red followed by one black – at the end the reds and blacks are separated again. You can repeat this to the cows come home and really show they are interlaced. But each time they end up separated. As a kicker for the end of the routine you turn over the rest of the deck, and they two are now in separate piles of blacks and reds.
A great trick with a kicker ending. The deck is left set-up for Paul Curry’s Out of This World, and part of me thinks it would make a natural lead in to that amazing effect. Maybe too many reds and blacks but its a thought.
Not all packet tricks are the same, and this one is definately one you will use!

Great Encyclopedia
This is just what you get, an Encyclopedia alphabetically ordered by the object used. There are really a lot of effects and puzzles and jokes the greatest part very easy but only a little part of them is really good you should choose them yourself. Finally a very good book, knowing some impropmtu magic is a must for every performer. Another good thing is that there are a hundreds of principles and ideas you can use to create new effects.
