Miracle Card Frame by Magic Wagon

(c. 2009) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

This is Magic Wagon’s version of a similar frame created by the always amazing Richard Gerlitz. It is larger but still an impressive piece of miniature mechanics.

Effect: Hundreds of hours have gone into the development of this mechanical marvel. The method used is highly elaborate and mechanically sophisticated not only due to the complexity of the mechanism themselves, but also as a consequence of manufacturing processes. The brass & glass work mechanism inside was an amazing piece of construction!

Unquestionably, this is one of the most dramatic, visible transformations you will ever encounter. Here’s a sensational series of high impact effects, all incorporated into a self contained, handcrafted wooden frame.

Routine #1: A spectator is invited to select a card from the deck and it is noted by all except the performer. The performer then shows a small wooden frame to be completely empty, and even wave his finger behind the frame to let the audience see his finger right through. The performer then takes the Joker and slowly slides it into the frame. To everyone’s surprise, the Joker visibly turns into the selected card! This looks absolutely incredible as the card never leaves the sight of the audience!

Routine #2: The performer shows a small wooden frame and states that the face down card in the frame is a prediction. The frame is then set aside in full view with its back toward the audience. Now, the spectator is asked to select a card from the deck and announce the name of his chosen card. The frame is then turned around and it is, much to the performer’s surprise, the prediction does not match! How did that happen? But, the performer says he can remedy this and warns the audiences not take their eyes off the card. He then slowly pulls the card out of the frame and it visibly changes to the chosen card! It’s a truly surprising and baffling close-up illusion!

Routine #3: A card is freely selected and signed across the face before being lost back into the deck. The performer now states that he’ll find the selected card in a more novel manner. He then spreads the deck face down on the table and immediately places one card into a small wooden frame. When the frame is turned around, it is NOT the signed card. Uh-oh! As performer makes a magical gesture, he slowly pulls the incorrect card out of the frame and it visibly changes to the spectator’s signed card! It looks absolutely amazing! The card is then removed from the frame and handed to the spectator as a souvenir!

    Nice micro magic

This is a wonderful piece of magic. The more you know about metal and wood working the more you can appreciate this piece. Wonderful teak wood with brass and glass workings are truly an art. Not as thin as the Gerlitz model, but not the price of Richards either. To appreciate it you have to understand all involved so just get one.
