As Willi Wessel created his unique custom boxes for each of his Alan Warner items he also created four Collections where he grouped together multiple pieces to form Mini Collections all contained in their own custom box.
I cannot think of anyone who has spent so much time and effort to store, protect and display Alan Warner’s magic or dare I say anyone else’s. It is such a treat to see all of the effort Willi went to for one of his biggest influences: Alan Warner.
_EF This first Mini Collection includes the following items:

I’ve always liked the look of these beautiful teak boxes. They are compact and strong and with the red and blue Chinese symbols look very striking. What is even better about these boxes is that they are a general switching device, anything that fits in one box can be transported into the other box: cards, billets, letters, colors, etc. You could use them in forces, do as I do effects, mind reading effects – the list is long!
There are no switches, flaps or external devices – the boxes are totally self contained and the method is just so very clever and very convincing. You will love how they look and how they operate – very different from any other card boxes I have seen.

What a great looking prop that plays a role in a very charming story about a mythical frog that likes money! The mechanics are easy to operate and provide a wonderful change right under the audiences nose!
Highly recommended!!

Here is an effect from Alan’s early painted period that has has a novel twist on a multiple color paddle idea. We have seen multiple color changing paddles before but this one is different: not only do the spots go through four changes the paddle itself changes from white to black which is another first from Alan as far as I am able to ascertain.
What a clever idea and a great way to maximize an effect without having to work too hard on the mechanics.

Interchange is an interesting and novel paddle effect that gets away from the usual paddle sequence by using an additional cover and plaque which works directly with the paddle. So although the paddle move is used, by the time you are done you are way past the move and can even leave the paddle and plaque in their hands at the end.
The idea to combine both effects into one is quite unique and when I look at all of the paddle effects I have owned there is nothing that combines a paddle with another prop in this way.

Although Alan’s magic is beautiful, meticulously thought out and often very clever, for the most part it is not really suitable for Strolling or Walk-Around Magic. The props either require a table, have a fairly complicated set-up, or are simply too ornate to put up with the rigors of this type of Magic.
Not so with this lovely piece. The basic routine that Alan supplies is easy to do, works well, with some magical surprises and a kicker ending. It has a quick reset and requires no table and is always ready to go.

This one looks so innocent, and yet the workings are simply genius and easy to perform. Spectator can choose any position for each colored cube with no force or equivocate involved. Performer’s prediction is correct every time!! This also looks great on display with the colors and teak complimenting each very nicely!!

This one leaves the audience wondering what the hell just happened? Invisible lightening passes through a gorgeous box without leaving a mark, then through some playing cards leaving visible holes, only to stop on a previously selected card left unharmed! Now, try and figure that one out!!
If you can find one or get Alan to make one. grab it!

Boy, was I happy to acquire these two boxes. Great to handle and display. Their very clever workings makes it easy to perform a super clean transpo effect using any items that will fit inside them. To get you started, Alan includes a few Patience Cards.
Highly recommended!!
