A classic, made better than ever!

This paddle has always been a favorite of mine and now made in machined black metal it is more perfect than ever!

The basic effect is that the audience sees the toothpick jumping from hole to hole, but when the paddle is handed out for examination they can’t find even find any holes let alone a clue as to how the pick was jumping around!

Maybe the best mechanical paddle?

This paddle is a bit like the old Wonder Signal with more changes, can be handed out for examination and is made of high quality machined metal.

You go from three yellows, to two yellows and a red, to red white and yellow, to red white and blue – at which point the paddle can be handed out. Nothing to take away, easy to do, and my favorite of the Porper Paddles!

Another Outstanding Item From Mel

I reviewed Mel Babcock’s Nest of 5 Boxes recently and I received this item two days ago. Again, beautiful workmanship and the use of exotic woods just add that additional touch to the boxes. Mel used Padauk on the largest box, followed by Rosewood in the middle box, and finally Canary Wood in the smallest box. Simple method but so well put together that it’s a pleasure to perform. Mel’s switch to more exotic woods in his magic puts these pieces into museum quality apparatus. The best part is the prices are affordable for what you are getting. One true collectible. I almost skipped this item but when Andy told he had ordered it, I obviously had second thought and I am glad I did.

Very Nice Paddle Set

I have owned this set of paddles for a while and they are well made in anodized aluminum with very close tolerances in the working gimmicks. I acquired the set directly from Joe as I work 15 minutes from his company, Creative Inventions, in Chatsworth, CA. I began visiting him for his beautiful wands which are a real work of art ( I own 5 presently) and, while there, he always shows me prototypes or first production pieces from his new line of magic. Of course, I ask to buy and he sells. Yes, there is more stuff coming out of this great craftsman, so be ready, Joe Porper is back!

Hi Andy
I’m curious as to the origins of your Head Chopper (the one in the video); terrific site and a very nice collection…

Hello Andy. First, I just want to say you have a very practical and useful site that I just keep coming back to every so often. It is a great site and thanks for maintaining it and sharing it with us fellow magicians. I have added some tips and reviews hoping to help others also when they come to look at the pictured tricks you have there.

God Bless America and Joe Mogar!

What could be more apt these days than performing a high quality knife routine and ending up with the good old Stars and Stripes!

Thanks to Joe Mogar you can now do it with style too! As with all Joe’s knives they are perfectly balanced and feel so good in your hands.

Beautiful Knives!

I was actually hesitant to order these knives. But I remembered owing a cheap set when I was a kid and felt nostalgic for those magic knives. I had heard wonderful comments on Joe Mogar so when I saw these limited edition knives, I decided, "what the heck". Well, everyone…these are truly worth your money and attention. Excellent craftsmanship and beautiful handles. Esthetics aside, these knives are trim and well balanced. They seem to almost perform in your hands by themselves with only slight coaching on your part. I don’t know how many Joe intends to sell of these little beauties, so better hurry!

A True Classic

In the Magic Cafe, someone asked the question, "If you could only keep 5 books or series of books, which would you keep?" Among the books in my answer was Richard’s Collected Almanac. The others were Lorayne’s Apocalypse volumes, Giobbi’s Card College series, Ibidem set, and all six volumes of Marlo’s Magazine. Collected Almanac is full of great magic from top names in the field. Richard Kaufman is no stranger to those who admire well illustrated and well published books on magic, so this is definitely a MUST in any library. BTW, the most popular answer was Paul Harris’ Art of Astonishment set.
