This entertaining kids routine was first published by David Kite in Abracadabra (Feb. 1st, 1969) then released by Roy Baker c. 1970.
It has a lot going on with classic sucker turn-it-around action and visual changes and a surprise ending that really flaws the kids 🙂
Effect: Any children’s entertainer will find this a GREAT TRICK to add to his program. Fido, a crazy looking dog (nicely silk screened) goes through some hilarious antics. The children yell their heads off when the magician is caught cheating. The dog changes color, more yells. Then Fido loses all his spots and they come out .on his lead (a ribbon). We believe that every trick should have a good finish, and the one with FRISKY FIDO is a SMASH! There is an abundance of hilarious business that builds up to this point. What is the finish? Well, it’s too good to give away but take our word it is a BIG LAUGH.
POZ, the well-known professional children’s entertainer, rang up to say that he was delighted with Fido and would we PLEASE TELL EVERYONE HE SAID SO.
TERRY HERBERT told us over the ‘phone: ” It’s a great trick. This goes right into my show.”
