Spotty by Ickle Pickle, Billy Day

This routine was originally devised by Billy Day in the UK c. 1965 and marketed by Harry Stanley. This is a later copy most likely without permission.

Effect: This is a fabulous “put on” with a Bag and Two Silks. One side of the Bag is Blue with White spots and the other side is White with Blue spots. You show the inside of the Bag. It is plain.

Now follows an Hilarious routine with lots of very good solid business with the Silks and Bag …. You make them change color in the bag, and lead them right up the Garden Path! You turn the bag inside out and transfer the spots from the bag onto the silks . . . White spots on the White Silk and Blue spots on the Blue Silk!! After more funny bits of business you do it again . . . and this time the Magic really works. Blue spots now appear on the White Silk and White spots on the Blue Silk. After the laughter has died down . . . you give the silks a puzzled look, saying, “There’s a “spot missing . . . where’s the Spot?”

You look inside the bag calling out “Spot, hey Spot” . . . and turning the bag inside o u t . . . you say “Here’s Snot, Good Doq” and there in fact he is . . for the bag Is now completely transformed into the colorful head of a dog . . . Complete with floppy ears!
