Zingana Box by Magic Wagon

These guys really are on fire! I received five items last weekend and each one is a winner. I didn’t cherry pick their five best items, but just the last five to come off the block. They are all winners, and no one creates boxes with this amazing jewelry box finish like Magic Wagon. What Milson-Worth did for beautifully painted parlor props in the 70’s – 90’s, Magic Wagon is doing for close-up wooden props this century.

This item fell under the radar of many – I’m sure some thought it was another electronic marvel (less trusted by many collectors) but it has no electronics. The routine is a clean 3 way prediction with multiple simple but effective methods, and you are left 100% clean. The box is gimmicked and does the work for you. This box is so clean and beautiful I’m thinking about keeping it in my small, but demanding collection.

Effect: A gentleman from the audience is chosen randomly and invited to participate in an imaginary vacation. The performer then brings out an elegant wooden box and asks the spectator whether he chooses to travel alone, with his friends, with his girlfriend or with his family. Thirty (30) different destination cards, five engraved brass plaques and a sealed, stapled, prediction are then removed from the box and handed to the spectator for examination. The spectator is asked to shuffle the cards thoroughly and freely select three vacation destinations. The chosen cards and a prediction are then placed into the box. The spectator is then instructed to lock the box and keep the key safe until the end of the show.

Next, the spectator is asked to imagine that he is looking to purchase a few nice things during his trip. The performer then states that the brass plaques contain the details of 25 different items and that there are no two prices alike. Now, the spectator is instructed to choose an item from each of the brass plaques and then to total the costs of these randomly selected items. Once done, the performer talks about coincidence and how unusual it can be. He then asks the spectator to unlock the box and read the written prediction aloud. Needless to say, the prediction correctly reveals who the spectator will take on his vacation, the amount of money he’s planning to spend on his purchases and also all the names of his chosen destinations! It is a stunning and inexplicable effect.
