What a clever idea from Jeff Prace. The basic method, used with coins, is old but what Jeff has created is something, as far as I know, completely new. It is one of those rare instances where the second you see the trick you know you have a winner on your hands. I immediately purchased three full decks and will get more. This is the sort of prop you will want to make sure you never run out of ever.
It is perfectly made and looks as innocent as you can make a force. There is nothing to do but have the spectator tear the cards up and shake their hands.
The only real challenge for this prop is finding an effect that benefits from the perfect force. I was playing with this and at the same time was taking photos of Milson Worth’s Curious Cubes and thought – that would be perfect.
You are going to absolutely love Random Card Generator – really excellent job Jeff 🙂
Effect: A completely hands-off card force—without a deck of cards.
The “random card generator” is the same size as a single playing card and has every value and suit represented, each in its own perforated box. The back of the card is entirely red. It is given to a participant, and the performer does not touch it again.
The participant tears the card along the perforations and drops the 20 small pieces into a glass. To randomly generate a playing card, the pieces are shaken and then spilled onto the table. Ones that are facing down (red-side up) are eliminated. All face-up pieces are put back into the glass, and the procedure is repeated until one value and one suit remain.
However, there is nothing random about this outcome. You will always end with your force card—with 100% reliability. It is truly baffling.
Comes complete with 30 custom-printed cards. Learn step-by-step with illustrated instructions. Designed, manufactured, and patent-pending in the United States.
