1 review for Mini Flying Die (Painted, Rare) by Mel Babcock

  1. Andy Martin

This effect was originally called The Alphabet Block and was invented by Okito c. 1910. It is thought to be the only item that Okito created specifically for children.

Mel started producing these for his own use at least as early as 1974 (see the clip from Linking ring). When he started his business he created three versions of this effect (Large, Small, and Mini). The mini version was the rarest, and the painted mini version even rarer still.

It is a beautifully made prop, that is easy to do and looks very effective.
