Disecto by Lester Lake, Tannen’s

(c. 1942,2001) (Submit Review) (Submit Update)

Disecto was invented by Lester Lake (Marvelo) c. 1938 and it was first marketed by Abbott’s c. 1942.

This is Tannen’s version without credit and it is on par with the Abbott’s version, though not as nice as the Supreme version.

Effect: Note photographs for the action of the handle with the blade, and cut-outs in which to place carrots etc., for splicing. Sharpness of blade is first demonstrated. Spectator’s hand is then inserted in the large opening; … and the other openings filled with carrots, stalks of celery, etc. The blade is forced down through the wrist, cutting everything – except the wrist. The hand is removed unharmed.

Knife blade is 12 inches long.
